What does it mean if I'm on the waitlist?

Students may be placed on a waitlist, as the U of A strives to offer admission to as many qualified applicants as possible. With that said, programs at the U of A are competitive and subject to available space. As a result, students may from time to time be placed on a waitlist.

Throughout the admissions process, as spaces become available we will make every effort to offer admission to individuals on the waitlist.

We understand it can be challenging to wait for an admission decision, which is why we will work as quickly as we can to provide a final assessment and decision. Typically, these decisions for waitlisted students will come throughout the spring and early summer.

If you are placed on a waitlist, please ensure you provide us with all of your official and final documents as indicated on your Bear Tracks To Do list.

To monitor your application and your admissions/waitlist status check Bear Tracks > Application Status, as well as your UAlberta email for updates. You will be notified via email when there is a change in status.
