Is there an English language requirement?

All undergraduate applicants to English-speaking and bilingual programs at the University of Alberta need an adequate level of English Language Proficiency (ELP) prior to admission, regardless of their citizenship status or country of origin. ELP requirements exist to ensure students have the English language skills necessary to succeed in the University of Alberta learning environment.
