Closest match to your question:

Why do I need to accept my admission offer?

Accepting your offer and paying your tuition deposit indicates your intention to attend the U of A. Accepting your offer also allows you to register in courses, once course registration opens. If you do not accept your offer and pay the tuition deposit by the deadline, your admission offer will be withdrawn and you will not be able to attend.
