How does competitive admission work?

Students are encouraged to do their best to be a competitive applicant and to apply early. If your grades are at or near the bottom of the projected competitive range, you should still apply, as the range may be revised later in the year. For more information, please see the list of competitive averages.

Selecting a second choice program can also increase your chances of receiving an admission offer from the University of Alberta. Students are encouraged to identify two choices on their application for admission.
